1958 Ford Sedan Delivery

altThis is a very rare 58 Ford Courier Sedan Delivery. 3,352 were built, very few survived. This has the 58 front end with the 57 back end. It is a 302 with T-5 manual 5 speed. Vintage air, power goodies, electric seats. Color is Ford Dark Torreador red with silver ghost flames inside and out. The paint was done in 1999 and it has over 30,000 miles on it. It is showing some age, but is still a very nice car. I will add more pictures and info later.

The grill is a 1958 Canadian Meteor, minus the center star. Bolted right in. Upper dash is all original and the AC controls/vents, stereo and misc. switches are in the custom piece under the dash. Seats are from a Ford Explorer, full electric with lumbar supports. Center arm rest/3rd seat is from a Dodge Dakota. This never had any back seat,,,always just flat back there. Side panels are just painted to match the outside, including the flames. Extra lights are from a Buick Park Avenue. I have owned this since 1972. It was sitting in a tree grove back then and was parked because it was so rusty. I bought it for $150, pumped the tires up, put in a battery and some gas, and drove it out of the trees... True story.

1958 Ford Custom 300

alt This is a 2 door sedan, original black car. This belonged to my grandma's elderly neighbor and it took me a long time to aquire it. It has gone through many changes over the years. My oldest son now owns it and unfortunately someone hit him head on last summer with a 4 wheel drive pickup. He was bruised and sore, but is ok now. The car received over $14,000 damage, but is on the mend now. It is a 351 Cleveland with a top loader 4 speed. I will be adding before/after/current progress photos and info soon.alt

This picture is the morning after the "crash". Pretty sad. The impact knocked both doors back enough to chip the paint off the rear 1/4s, but it sprung back to where the door gaps are ok. The frame was bent,,,knocked the bushings out of both lower A frames. We removed the front clip and the only engine damage was the water pump, alternator, pulleys and accessories. We started it up and it ran fine...good news!! More updated pictures and info coming.

Picture from 4/6/11. Got the front clip test fit and everything lined up good. Now we need to take it back off and clean and prep it for paint. This front clip came off another 2 door sedan. I had actually crushed that 58 the very same day that my son had the accident. Before I hauled it out, I removed the front clip and doors. Must have been sensing the near future.

This is my other son's car. 1979 Ford Fairmont Futura Coupe. It is a nice rust free car with 302 and automatic. It has P.S., P.B., A.C. Thunderbird 15" Turbo Coupe wheels. The light color is all original. There was a partial vinyl top that was in poor shape. We removed that and painted the rear part of the roof and the lower body in a gold/brown color. Nice, clean little car.

altThis is my latest personal project...the dreaded Mustang II. These have never gotten any repect from the "other" Mustang owners, but they were a good car and I have always liked them. Also...they are very affordable. This is a 74, original 4 cylinder 4 speed, but now has a 302 from a 73 Torino and 4 speed from a later Cobra II. This is the way I bought it and I haven't really started on it yet. I am planning a 60s Retro look for it. More pictures to come as i make some progress.

This is the only picture I have of this in action. As you can probably tell by now,,,,,I like 58 Fords. This picture was probably from around 1981. Car was another Custom 300 2 door sedan. It had a 428 Police Interceptor...mildly moified, C-6 automatic. I had stripped the car a lot and it was pretty light for a full framed 50s car. It would run 13 flat 1/4 mile times at around 105 MPH. Not fast by today's standards, but 30 years ago, not bad for a car that I had about $1,000 in total. I still have it today,,,but no engine or transmission. Every time I walk by it, I get crazy ideas about putting it back together and going to the strip!!!!
